CONSTRUCTION STYLE OF UTNUR FORT, DIST ADILABAD

Abstract

Utnur is a one of the famous tribal places in India. Former name of Utnur was Vitala Nagar. It was ruled by many dynasties. Rich Gond culture appears here. Fortification began during the time Gond kings, and the Qutub Sahibs. The place was refortified by Yadava kings of Devagiri. The perimeter of fort curtain wall is 343m. The rectangular entrance gate construction is main feature of fort. The curtain wall perimeter of the Fort is 752m. The huge and depth moat was there around the Fort. 9.20ac. of courtyard is in the Fort.
