Abstract

The pursuit of gender equality stands as a cornerstone in contemporary societies, yet the journey toward its realization is intricately woven with the influences of cultural and societal paradigms. This research navigates the complex interplay between gender equality and socialization, elucidating how cultural and societal influences shape, reinforce, or challenge prevailing gender norms and behaviours. Grounded in the realms of sociology, psychology, and cultural studies, this study embarks on an exploration of how individuals are socialized into gender roles, expectations, and identities, intricately entwined with cultural traditions, educational systems, and societal structures. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, this research delves into the multifaceted nature of socialization processes, dissecting the mechanisms through which cultural norms, media portrayals, educational systems, and familial influences shape perceptions and attitudes towards gender equality. The study endeavor to unravel the impact of early socialization on the formation of gender stereotypes, roles, and biases, while also scrutinizing the potential avenues for challenging and reshaping these norms.
