Abstract

This study provides a comprehensive perspective on the use of pesticides in developing countries like India and their impact on human health and food security, leading to violations of basic human rights. The information presented outlines the challenges in controlling these harmful chemicals and assesses the extent to which they are banned throughout the country and worldwide. The analysis of this study evaluates the continued use of hazardous chemical substances in agricultural practices and the increasing demands for these substances. It also discusses the profound effects on human life and human rights. Numerous documented cases of unintended pesticide poisoning resulting in deaths have occurred both in the country and worldwide. In most instances, lives were threatened either by the direct consumption of pesticides through crops or by pesticide residues that remain after cultivation. Recommendations can be formulated to ensure that all people, including future generations, have access to a healthy life. Many nations, including developing countries like our own, are subject to regulations aimed at protecting the rights to life, health, and livelihoods of their people. The emphasis is placed on the mortality rate due to pesticide poisoning because it significantly impacts the basic human rights of individuals. Some initiatives to protect human rights are specified, and instances where these protections have proven ineffective are described. This is done in order to consider the elimination of harmful pesticides as a means of safeguarding human rights.
