Abstract

Education has power to motivate us in various dimensions in the positive manner. Its policies make by acknowledging human nature, behaviour and other aspects. For it, a separate field recognize the physical and mental processes of human behaviour, and predict the futuristic responses of the people, known as Psychology. It has numerous principles to understand the cause-and-effect concepts behind the human nature and behaviours. This chapter talks about the merge form of above-mentioned fields as ‘Educational Psychology’ and the importance of Psychology in the different perspectives of Education. In this chapter some definitions of educational psychology are explained to the actual nature of educational psychology. Further, this chapter talks about psychological perspectives regarding education in the points of cognitive development, behaviouristic approach, socio-cultural aspect, developmental, humanistic, constructive, and experiential perspectives.
