Abstract

Student engagement is a critical factor in promoting academic success and fostering positive learning experiences. The present study aims to understand the factors that contribute to student engagement in the classroom and explore their impact on academic success, with a focus on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, self-efficacy beliefs, interest, and goal orientation. And to investigate effective instructional practices and interventions that promote student engagement and identify strategies for enhancing student engagement in educational settings. This paper presents a comprehensive review of existing literature, highlighting key theories, empirical research findings. Through an exhaustive analysis of existing literature, it has become evident that the relationship between student engagement and academic success is complex and influenced by factors like digital readiness, school climate, self-efficacy, and study habits. To improve academic success, educators should focus on creating supportive environments, fostering positive self-perceptions, and implementing effective learning strategies. Institutions can also promote diversity, encourage active engagement in co-curricular activities, and implement culturally engaging initiatives.
