Abstract

The socio-cultural scenario of North-East India (NEI) is characterized by a remarkable diversity of ethnic groups, languages, religions, and customs. This region is home to over 200 indigenous communities, each with its distinct cultural practices and traditions. Despite the diverse cultural landscape, NEI celebrates the unity that emerges from this diversity. Festivals and cultural events bring communities together, allowing them to appreciate and respect each other's cultural heritage. The interplay of different ethnic groups, their traditions, languages, and festivals create a vibrant tapestry of cultures, fostering a sense of unity and coexistence. However, the socio-cultural scenario of NEI also faces challenges related to inter-ethnic dynamics and socio-economic disparities. Efforts have been made to address these challenges and promote dialogue, understanding, and inclusivity. Initiatives focused on cultural exchange, women empowerment, and infrastructure development aim to strengthen the socio-cultural fabric of NEI. Embracing and celebrating diversity while fostering unity are essential for preserving the rich heritage and promoting the socio-cultural growth of North-East India.
