Abstract

Education is a pivotal establishment that assumes a crucial role in molding both individuals and societies, drawing upon insights from the realms of psychology and sociology to grasp its complex essence. Psychological perspectives concentrate on the inner workings of learning, cognition, and development, while sociological viewpoints examine the broader societal influences on the educational framework. Piaget's constructivism theory emphasizes the active participation of learners in the creation of knowledge (Piaget, 1952), while Vygotsky's sociocultural theory highlights the significance of social interactions in cognitive development (Vygotsky, 1978). In contrast, Bourdieu's cultural capital theory clarifies how an individual's social background affects educational accomplishments (Bourdieu, 1977), while critical theories analyze the educational system's contribution to upholding inequality and support transformative pedagogical approaches (Apple, 1995; hooks, 1994). Through the integration of these diverse concepts, there can be emergence of comprehensive system of education.
