Abstract

Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902) was a great Philosopher, educator, thinker and reformer of India. He firmly believes that education should closely follow the path of human growth to its maximum degree and that the development of any nation is reliant the development of its people. The educational philosophies of Swami Vivekananda have had a significant influence on contemporary pedagogy. This paper explores the ideas of Vivekananda, emphasising his emphasis on character development, self-realization, holistic development, and the fusion of spirituality and education. In order to enable people to lead meaningful lives, Vivekananda argued for an educational system that promotes moral principles as well as intellectual development. This study clarifies the applicability of Vivekananda's educational goals in the current educational discourse by looking at his teachings.
