Abstract

Leaders are not the persons who only lead from front but are individuals who show the path and walk beside their subordinates. Leaders need not always hold the apex positions, in fact best kind of leadership are those where leaders are participative along with subordinates. Again, leadership is not a permanent position but it is a duty to be carried out by individuals if and when assigned. This chapter tries to focus on various aspects of leadership and discusses them in detail. Moreover, this qualitative paper uses secondary sources and highlight role of teacher leaders, models of teacher leadership, its pros and cons. The author tries to highlight importance of teacher leadership in improving school effectiveness and learning outcomes.
