Abstract

This study investigates the application of two prominent project management techniques, the Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) and the Critical Path Method (CPM), within educational settings. As schools and educational institutions increasingly adopt structured project management approaches to enhance efficiency and outcomes, understanding the relative advantages and limitations of PERT and CPM becomes essential. The PERT and CPM are two network-based project management techniques, which exhibit the systematic sequence of the project and activities .PERT and CPM is compact for the projects where the time needed to complete many different activities those are not known. On the other hand, CPM is efficient for the projects which are recurring in nature. This is a qualitative research based on secondary data. The study found that PERT and CPM has wide application on education. Findings suggest that while both PERT and CPM offer substantial benefits, the choice between them should be informed by project-specific variables such as complexity, uncertainty, and time constraints.
