ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND EDUCATION: A TEACHERS’ PERSPECTIVE

With the advancement of technology, artificial intelligence has started showing its prominence in educational sector. Various artificial intelligence tools have been used in classroom to make the students and teachers more active and modernized. So, the researcher in this study wanted to measure the perception of secondary level teachers about employing artificial intelligence in classroom. The researcher took 120 samples from Howrah district. A self-made standardized questionnaire in five-point Likert Scale was given to them to know their perception. Manual coding and t test were done as analysis process. For coding an open-ended non-standardized structured questionnaire was given to them. The coding revealed varied level of responses from the samples. There were economical, psychological, social, monetary and awareness related issues in implementing artificial intelligence in education system. It was also revealed that there was no significant difference in the level of perception of using artificial intelligence in education in between male and female and in between Science and Arts stream secondary level teachers. There was significant difference in the level of perception of using artificial intelligence in education in between urban and rural secondary level teachers.Published
