Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has considerably shaped various sectors, like healthcare, politics, society, and economy, yielding both positive and negative outcomes. The education sector is equally advantaged and disadvantaged by the advent of AI. The present study aims to find the perception, knowledge and proficiency, and the awareness regarding drawbacks of AI among the post-graduate students of South 24 Parganas in West Bengal. In this survey-based study a small sample of 35 post-graduate students has been selected and a structured questionnaire has been used for data collections. The result revealed that post-graduate students have high level of perception but knowledge and proficiency is at low level. They are also found to have average level of awareness regarding the limitations of AI. Their opinions regarding the most preferred applications and the most serious threat in AI use has been explored and revealed in the present study.
