ADVANCEMENTS IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS: DIAGNOSTIC AND INTERVENTION

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has developed computer tools capable of performing numerous tasks, simulating human-like problem-solving abilities. AI techniques have emerged as one of the most valuable applications in the field of special educational needs (SEN). These tools aim to enhance children's interaction with their environment, promote learning, and enrich their daily lives. Due to the inherent characteristics of special educational needs, accurate diagnosis has been a critical focus area. Additionally, intervention strategies must be highly individualized to be effective. This report introduces some of the most representative studies from the last decade (2001–2010) that utilize AI methods for accurate diagnosis and prompt intervention in special educational needs.
