Abstract

This review paper explores the spatial distribution of biodiversity within urban green spaces, focusing on how these spaces contribute to biodiversity conservation in urban environments. The paper synthesizes current literature and research findings to examine the factors influencing biodiversity patterns in urban green spaces, including size, connectivity, management practices, and surrounding land use. Furthermore, it analyzes the role of urban green spaces in enhancing ecological resilience, supporting native species, and providing ecosystem services. The review also discusses challenges such as habitat fragmentation, invasive species, and pollution impacts on urban biodiversity, along with potential management strategies for promoting biodiversity in these settings. Overall, this paper provides insights into understanding and managing urban green spaces to sustain biodiversity in the face of urbanization.
