TEMPORAL ANALYSIS OF AIR POLLUTION IN PRAYAGRAJ CITY

Abstract

A critical challenge gripping the world today is environmental pollution. Industrialization and urbanisation have adversely affected environment resulting into different types of pollution. Air pollution emerges as a leading concern for this generation due to its dual impact on human health and the environment. Manufacturing, construction and transportation activities have all contributed to air pollution in the world and India is not an exception. Indian cities are also facing challenges of air pollution. Prayagraj is one of the million city and considered as important cultural, educational and administrative center. This article aims to discuss air pollution at global and national level as well analyse the level of air pollution in Prayagraj city. This study also tries to findout trend and pattern of the air pollution in the city using annual average cycle of key pollutants (PM10, PM2.5, NO2, SO2, O3 and NO) at different AQI stations.
