In an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world, fostering global citizenship within educational frameworks has become paramount. Global Citizenship Education (GCE) aims to equip learners with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to navigate and contribute positively to a global society. Key components of GCE include promoting global awareness, cultural empathy, critical thinking, sustainable development, human rights, and active participation. These elements collectively nurture informed, empathetic, and active global citizens. The goals of GCE encompass understanding global interdependence, promoting cultural empathy, developing critical thinking, encouraging active participation, fostering ethical responsibility, advancing sustainable development, and enhancing communication skills. Effective strategies for GCE include integrating diverse perspectives, promoting experiential learning, emphasizing critical thinking, utilizing technology, fostering open dialogue, incorporating the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), building partnerships with global organizations, providing professional development for educators, assessing global competence, and encouraging multilingualism. Teaching global citizenship is essential for preparing students to navigate and contribute to an interconnected world. By fostering global awareness, cultural empathy, critical thinking, and ethical responsibility, educators can nurture responsible and active global citizens capable of addressing the challenges of the 21st century.Metrics
