Teachers play a significant role in promoting sustainability among students. They teach our future generations about making ethical and responsible choices, ethical leadership and consuming resources scientifically and systematically which contribute to achieve the sustainable development goals. Sustainable Development is a holistic development model that can meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Brundtland Report introduced the three pillars of sustainability viz. environmental, Social and Economic sustainability which are commonly known as ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance). Sustainable Development is the compilation of a series of international agreements and goals that are implemented at the level of the individual states and communities involved. Here in this paper the researcher wanted to find out the awareness level of trainee teachers from few teacher training institutes towards Sustainable Development. In this quantitative descriptive research study mean, standard deviation, percentage and t test were done for data analysis. The result revealed that most of the trainee teachers weren't well aware of the concept of sustainability. There was no significant difference in the presence of awareness between the male and female trainee teachers. The rural trainee teachers had lesser level of awareness towards sustainable development.Published
