Abstract

Action Research is a research methodology that involves active participation, collaboration, and reflection to address real-world problems and improve practices. A flexible and adaptive approach which focuses on practical problem-solving and learning, rather than solely on generating knowledge. The objective of this chapter is to discuss every aspect of action research from key principles, phases, types, methods as well as its benefits and limitations. This chapter is formulated from journal articles, blog pages, books, websites and NEP 2020 document. The findings of this chapter can be summarized by concluding action research is best option when immediate action is required to solve classroom problems. The significance of this chapter lies in the fact that author studies classroom implications of Action Research and also highlights how educational psychology and Action Research are intertwined. Recommendations of NEP 2020 and their realization in real-life classrooms through Action Research is also highlighted.
