Abstract

In present educational era, social-emotional learning (SEL) becomes the main focus of attention for teacher, researchers, and policy makers as it contributes to the holistic development of learners. This chapter discusses the conceptual understanding, core components and importance of SEL in contemporary educational system. In the present chapter authors also suggested the ways for integrating SEL into school and role of teacher in fostering SEL among students. It further elaborates the relevance of SEL for learners' holistic development.
