Action research is thus an emancipatory process in educational context, which enables the educator to engage in process of systematic, self-assessment on the efficiency of his/her teaching and learners’ performance. This chapter provides a comprehensive guide to action research, detailing each step of the process: define problems, develop, put into action and monitor strategies, evaluate outcomes, and modify for the future. This paper examines the advantages of action research, which are the improvement of the process of teaching, learning achievements, personal growth, and organizational culture among teachers. Furthermore, the chapter identifies and responds to typical issues and ways of solving them. The present anthology is organized in case studies to help readers identify with action research in different educational settings.
