Abstract

The scientific method of rearing honeybees primarily for the production of several economically significant goods, such as honey and wax, is known as apiculture, or beekeeping. The Latin word ‘apis’, which means bee, is where the word ‘apiculture’ originates. This method involves the commercial rearing of bees in apiaries, an area large enough to support a large number of bee colonies. One of the main reasons why apiculture is important is that it employs a significant number of people in India. India is currently ranked sixth in the world among the top exporters of natural honey. One of the primary pollinators of domestic and wild plants is the bee. Honey bees pollinate as many plants as possible. Many blooming plant species—including many native plants—are pollinated by honey bees than by any other insect. Bees are essential to farming in many countries because they fertilize a wide range of agricultural food plants. A functional pollination system is a prerequisite for a healthy ecosystem. Beekeeping is becoming a very popular enterprise these days. It's among the simplest and most effective ways to gather pure honey. It's a field full of potential and growth that provides our young people with a stable foundation for their future as beekeepers. If young people are willing to work as apiculturists, this review will broaden their knowledge and improve their scientific proficiency in this subject. In this article we will look into the details of various conventional as well as modern methods by which bee-keeping can be done effectively.
