Abstract

The education is a medium to prepare the next generations in benefit of the functioning of human society. The universities are considered important agents in the progress of the nations by providing knowledge to the society. The Autonomous University of Sinaloa was founded with the mission of train young people for the benefit of themselves and the society. The purpose of the present article is to divulge the important work of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa in the Sustainable Development for the benefit of society. The methodology used consists of the bibliography review of documentation of The United Nations Organization, The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization, the Mexican law, Environmental Education, Sustainable Development, the Institutional Development Plan and the Work Reports Rector Periods. It shows how the institution in the rector periods carries a continuity in the implementation of beneficial actions towards sustainable development and environmental education in the students and society. It follows that the university has been carried out appropriately the environmental education and sustainable development and any organization always try to work in areas of opportunity.
