Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic severely impacted people's learning habits, forcing them to shift to studying online. Several well-known knowledge payment platforms provide a variety of online courses aimed at developing professional knowledge or skills. This paper's objectives are to understand the awareness about the institutions that offer online courses, to ascertain the elements influencing respondents of different demographic profiles' selection of an online course platform and to pinpoint the motivations behind enrolling in an online course. The research methodology consisted of a cross-sectional research design, with data collected from 210 respondents from various demographic profiles. Structured questionnaire was used for data collection. Independent sample t-test and one way ANOVA were conducted for analyzing the data with the help of SPSS. The majority of responders were aware of LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, and Udemy. Caliber of the content, the availability of peer learning, instructor engagement, and a certificate of completion are the important elements considered while choosing a course.
