Abstract

Right to work is one of the basic fundamental human rights that imply availability of such conditions which are essential for the fullest development of every individual as a human being. Nowadays it is interlinked with Artificial Intelligence (AI) as AI is reshaping employment opportunities, work conditions, and labour rights. AI has a profound impact on human rights by influencing privacy, equality, work, security, and freedom, making it essential to ensure that AI development and deployment are aligned with international human rights standards. The objective of the present study is to attempt to explore the impacts of AI on the right to work from a human rights perspective, analyzing how AI-driven technological advancements affect employment, equality, and the protection of fundamental labour rights. The impact of AI on the right to work as well as the labour market is multifaceted. While concerns about job losses persist, companies using AI to innovate are poised to expand their workforce. As AI industrialization continues to spread over the globe, an increasing number of businesses are replacing traditional human resource work with AI solutions. Human rights are suffering and will eventually disappear if this AI development is not properly managed, particularly the right to work. Governments and technology developers should ensure AI systems are designed to augment human capabilities rather than replace them. Ethical frameworks must prioritize human well-being and dignity. The future of work must not only be efficient but equitable, inclusive, and human-centered.
