Abstract

The integration of mindfulness and Triguna—the three fundamental qualities of human nature (Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas)—offers a transformative approach to modern HR practices. This framework addresses key organizational challenges by fostering Sattva (clarity and ethical behavior), constructively channeling Rajas (energy and ambition), and mitigating the effects of Tamas (inertia and disengagement). This chapter presents practical strategies for aligning Triguna principles with HR functions, including recruitment, training, performance management, and work-life balance. A Triguna-Mindfulness Integration Model is proposed to guide implementation, alongside solutions for overcoming challenges such as resistance to change. Metrics and tools for evaluating impact are discussed, highlighting the relevance of this approach in promoting employee well-being, productivity, and harmonious workplace cultures. The chapter concludes with a call for HR professionals to adopt these practices and explores future research opportunities for advancing this innovative integration.
