FORENSIC SCIENCE AND EVIDENTIARY VALUE IN INDIAN COURTS

Abstract

Forensic science occupies a very important place in the Indian legal system and provides a number of scientific approaches for proving facts in civil and criminal cases (Mangi, 2021).It is applied in crime scene investigation and laboratory analysis to identify culprits and events reconstruction (Kausar, 2021).In India, the admission and the evidentiary value of the forensic evidence in the courts are controlled by certain legal principles laid down in the Indian Evidence Act, and the Criminal Procedure Code. With recent reformations in Indian criminal laws, a renewed focus has been placed on the role of forensic science in investigation and prosecution.
