The use of criminal justice in a sporting context takes many forms, including violence by athletes both in sport and in the community, fraud and misconduct by sport organizations and the abuse of prohibited performance-enhancing drugs (Jackson and Dawson, 2021).Legal implications of athlete misconduct reach further than the playing field and affect their home lives, jobs, and the integrity of the sports they play for. The sporting context is a unique one, and the principles of criminal justice will be most effective if the interrelationship between sports and law are carefully considered and there is clear understanding that conflicts between sport tradition and legal concepts (Chaeroni et al., 2024).Published
