CROP COMBINATION AND POSITION OF COTTON IN CROP COMBINATION OF YAVATMAL DISTRICT (2000 TO 2020)

Abstract

Agriculture is the main occupation in India and it is the backbone of economy. Cash crops play an important role in the development of agriculture. Cotton is the major cash crops in Maharashtra state. In most of the crop combination cotton found in first place in Maharashtra state. In mixed cropping system, two or more crops are grown at the same time. This is done so that they can use the nutrients in the soil efficiently. This benefits the farmer as he can grow different types of crops at the same time. Present paper reveals the crop combination and position of cotton in combination in Yavatmal district.
