Abstract

Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895-1986) was a philosopher who highlighted self-discovery as central to education. He opposed conventional systems and championed the fostering of engaged young minds. His stimulating insights prompt us to contemplate and scrutinize the systems and structures we have created and upheld. This paper examines Krishnamurti’s philosophical ideas and highlights the limitations of modern educational systems. It centers on three main aspects: the definition of education, the role of schools, and the importance of pedagogy. Furthermore, it compares the current educational landscape with Krishnamurti’s perspective.
