Abstract

Emerging trends are causing rapid and deep changes in the world of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), with significant ramifications for emergency management. We will examine major trends influencing ICT in emergency situations in this introduction, emphasizing how they affect response plans, communication tactics, and catastrophe resilience as a whole. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in emergency response is one important trend. These technologies improve the efficacy and efficiency of disaster response activities by enabling real-time data analysis, predictive modeling, and automated decision-making. Large volumes of data from numerous sources, such as social media, sensors, and satellite imaging, can be processed by AI-driven technologies, which can then provide insightful information for prompt decision-making in emergency situations. Another interesting trend is the incorporation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
