TRANSFORMING THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY

Abstract

This research offers a detailed review of transformative issues in the Information Technology IT industry integrating findings from various studies on international competitiveness, innovation dynamics, applications within and across industries as well societal effects. Thus, analyzing the key research works we reveal the global nature of IT; core technologies play enormous role in strategic emerging industries. The multidimensional nature of IT is revealed in such aspects as government subsidence and the innovation relationships at a company, internal synergies that occur within high-tech chains, or interactions between cultural industry with its tourist leg. The deliberation is widened through the assessment of green innovation efficiency, current standing in health information technology and effect that ICT has on economic growth. Our observations emphasize that the IT trends, societal dimensions, and economic imperatives represent a set of interrelated phenomena thus providing us with an overall understanding about dynamic character of this complex area.
