Abstract

The present work summarizes Bhagavadgita's fundamental ideas. Lord Krishna and Arjuna's deep conversation during the Kurukshetra conflict illuminates many psychological and spiritual truths in the Bhagavad Gita. The Bhagavad Gita is an important psychological counseling and psychotherapy case study. In the Gita's first chapter, 'Arjuna Vishada Yoga', Arjuna feels several emotions as he watches his cousins and relatives’ fight. Nervousness, fear, and remorse overwhelm him. Lack of clarity and strong emotional attachments to his loved ones forced Arjuna to flee from the battlefield. Arjuna's predicament sprang from his dread of sin and losing loved ones. Krishna taught his pupil about Karma, Yoga, Nirvana, and the soul's everlasting essence. Krishna helps Arjuna win the war. This conversation between Lord Krishna and Arjuna represents psychological theories and counseling methods to resolve conflict. This study examines Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta counseling and psychotherapy.
