Abstract

This article offers a comprehensive insight into neurodiversity in children, embracing conditions like autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, long stigmatized in society and literature. Mental health conditions—depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders—hold significant prevalence, presenting formidable challenges to individuals, families, and society. Exploring the shifting portrayal of neurodiversity in society and literature, the article tracks its narrative evolution from stigmatization to the present celebration of diverse identities. It delves into the historical progression of neurodiversity, stressing the ongoing need to promote diverse experiences in children's literature, society, and education. This emphasis aims to dismantle stereotypes and nurture a compassionate and inclusive world.
