Abstract

Weeds are generally harmful to almost all types of agricultural crops because their presence affects the crop yield in various ways. In Uttar Pradesh state of India, different kinds of weeds grown simultaneously, alongwith various crops. From which Ageratum conyzoides, weed is a very common and harmful weed for the production of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum) crop including some other crops such as Brassica campestris, Mentha piperata, Cicer arietinum, Lens esculenta, Solanum melongena, Abelmoschus esculentus etc. Thereby, in the present studies, an attempt was made for the Vermicomposting of A. conyzoides and impact of prepared vermicompost on the growth of Ocimum sanctum (Ramtulsi). These studies revealed that the prepared vermicompost of this weed, showed the better results on the growth of Ocimum sanctum.
