Indoor air pollution poses a significant threat to human health, with various pollutants originating from diverse sources within residential, commercial, and educational environments. This paper aims to comprehensively examine the causes, effects, and control measures associated with indoor air pollution. It also elucidates the common indoor pollutants, their sources, and the potential health implications on occupants. Existing standards, methods for monitoring indoor air quality, and guidelines for acceptable indoor air quality levels are explored to provide a benchmark for evaluation. To address these concerns, the paper explores a range of strategies for indoor air pollution control like the ventilation systems, air purification technologies, the role of building design and construction in mitigating indoor air pollution. This paper also addresses challenges encountered during implementation and provides valuable lessons for future endeavors. The findings of this research have implications for public health policies, advocating for proactive measures to enhance indoor air quality and mitigate associated health risks. This paper contributes to the ongoing discourse on safeguarding indoor environments and promoting healthier living conditions.Metrics
