Abstract

Environmental, Social and Corporate governance (ESG) are the business aspects that socially accountable investors apply to recognize and ascertain a company’s sustainability and social effect. The fourth largest sector of India is the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector. In India, fifty percent of the sales by FMCG sector is comprised of household and personal care products. The FMCG sector in India is an important contributor to GDP. Three million people have been employed in the FMCG sector of India. This sector in India also generates five percent of the total employment related to factories in India. The communities and ecosystems of worldwide and Indian climate are alarmed by plastic production which flows from the FMCGs. A large quantity of plastic waste is produced from the plastic packets of the products produced by the FMCG industry. The present study reveals the Environmental, Social and Corporate governance (ESG) practices of twenty-one (21) listed FMCG Companies in India.
