The central aim of social science disciplines is to find out social problems and propose ameliorative actions. The idea of social problem asserts the conditions are problematic to a population, however there are certain problems are not tangible in specific time and space or the severity not realized objectively by the people are getting affected or even completely ignorant or likely to be affected by the problems. The study on the information technology deployment for the Burdwan university students and cross comparison with other universities explores several existing problems, however the problems were not realized by most of the PG degree courses respondents underwent the study. Grounded theory methodology was implied as part of the central methodological approach for the study. Findings reveals several existing social problems are beyond the purview of the respondents. The following is a critical analysis of the existing social problems not being adequately addresses by the people that might highly affects them, that might raise the question on the concept of social problem in general.
