Postcolonial feminism is associated with women being oppressed by colonial power and patriarchy, even after the independence of certain colonies. In a great number of nations, women are still colonized on two fronts, by imperialism and male dominance, and are therefore not yet liberated. Due to their shared characteristics, post-colonial and feminist groups have merged to some degree. These include exploitation and subordination: Post Colonialism is related to the literature, culture, history, and modes of discourse of the third world countries in Asia, Africa, South America and the Caribbean Islands, the centres of colonisation. It naturally applies to decolonization, which entails returning to and recreating native cultures. Postcolonial Feminism aims to decolonize feminist activism. Postcolonial feminist academic writings attempt to comprehend and interpret daily lived experiences from a postcolonial perspective. Postcolonial feminism distinguishes between the universal (white) and the diverse lived realities of the rest of the world's population. The article is an attempt to provide a historical and critical analysis of Postcolonial feminism.
