Nineteenth century India has produced a galaxy of great men who have enriched our national life by their talent and personality. Swami Vivekananda was one of them. As a practical saint of modern India, Swamiji wanted to revive the ancient Vedic wisdom and succeed in re-establishing the glorious traditions of great India. As he had immense faith in the dignity of man and his well-being, he preached and practiced the gospels of truth, righteousness, renunciation, brotherhood of man and the realization of God throughout his life. He harmonized the East and the West, religion, and science, past and present. We have gained unprecedented self-respect, self-reliance, and self-assertion from his teachings. He wanted that the people of our country should embark on work and be active. His Advaitism was not a passivity, and he knew that if the people of the country were not ready for toil and sacrifice, India would hardly achieve wealth and prosperity. He called everyone to sacrifice for the attainment of a noble goal. His message was to wake, arise and stop not till the goal is reached. He was a seer, a God-commanded entity, and an epitome of Indian Knowledge System. His teaching is still eternal in the mind of Indian society even in 21st century.Published
