Abstract

One of the mediums of informal education is folk literature and performing arts. One of these performing arts is folk theatre. Folk dramas like Yatra were one of the forms of entertainment for the rural people in those days when there was no cinema or TV. By which the labourers, the cultivators, and almost all groups belonging to the rural society found their means of entertainment and pleasure. Along with entertainment, various information related to religious knowledge, moral education and knowledge of ideals, social awareness were served through Yatrapala. As the audience enjoyed the journey through the story; Along with that he received educational and social and moral messages.
