Abstract

This study describes the influence of counselling on adolescent mental health, aiming to assess its effectiveness in addressing the complex challenges faced by adolescents. Through a concise review of existing literature and empirical studies, the study examines how counselling interventions contribute to enhancing the mental well-being of adolescents. Findings suggest that counselling serves as a vital tool in supporting adolescents' mental health by providing a safe and nurturing environment for them to explore their emotions, thoughts, and concerns. It facilitates the development of coping strategies, emotional regulation skills, and effective communication techniques crucial for navigating the challenges of adolescence. Furthermore, counselling interventions target specific mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse, offering evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to meet the unique needs of adolescents. By promoting psychoeducation and destigmatizing mental health issues, counselling encourages adolescents to seek help proactively and access the necessary support and resources. Counselling emerges as a valuable resource in promoting adolescent mental health, offering personalized, culturally sensitive interventions that empower adolescents to cope with adversity and thrive in their journey toward well-being.
