Abstract

This study aimed to understand the difficulties faced by college libraries in providing these services. A survey research method was adopted to address the research questions. The results revealed that while libraries have made commendable strides in providing basic Web-based services like e-resources and databases, the growing popularity of social media as a communication channel indicates a shift in user expectations. Additionally, the persistence of demand for traditional print services alongside online options suggests a preference for hybrid solutions. However, the struggle with understaffing and limited financial resources hampers libraries' ability to fully meet these evolving needs. Therefore, addressing these resource constraints is crucial for colleges to equip their libraries with the capacity to bridge the gap and offer a comprehensive blend of online and traditional services that meet the diverse demands of their users. This conclusion emphasises the key findings, identifies the critical gap, and highlights the need for resource-based solutions to ensure libraries can effectively meet user demands in the evolving digital landscape.
