INDIAN SCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTION (ANCIENT AND MEDIAEVAL INDIA) IN THE LIGHT OF NEP 2020

Abstract

Ancient India was a land of saints and philosophers as well as a land of scholars and scientists. Research has shown that from making the best steel in the world to teaching the world to count,India was actively contributing to the field of science and technology long before modern laboratories were set up.While some of the those groundbreaking contributions have been acknowledged, some are still unknown to most.National Education Policy(NEP) 2020 is an attempt to put light on the glory of Indian scientific culture in the past through focusing on Indian Knowledge System(IKS).This paper open up new dimensions in understanding the Indigenous knowledge and will make people aware of the glorious past of Indians and will be helpful in providing proper recognition to the people and artifacts of the past.
