Abstract

Guru Gobind Singh ji was one of the great men of world, who infused a new life in the country men and revived in the them the spirit of sovereignty and dignity. He prepared the people to resist oppression firmly and directed them to join the Khalsa institute to fight against the tyranny and injustice. In fact, the birth of the Khalsa is a very important historical event that has influenced deeply the course of India history. The followers of Sikhism became free from the hateful restrictions of the caste system and they were now bound by one ‘Brotherhood’. As a true democrat, Guru ji established a religious democracy in which all his followers were equal. He grasped the sword himself and also asked his followers to do so only for the protection of righteousness. He was against the abuse of power. He aimed at regenerating a decaying people and creating a new Sikh nation. The new nation was to be based upon justice, freedom of conscience, liberty, equality to the highest in all ways. The main aim of this research paper is to explore the ideas of Guru Gobind Singh ji against the casetism and political tyranny.
