Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought to light the value of digital educational approaches, with blended learning emerging as a pragmatic option for upholding learning standards. The chapter emphasizes the effectiveness and challenges of blended learning. The book chapter concludes that the amalgamation of theoretical approaches and the design of hybrid learning environments harness the transformative potential of online learning, shaping the future of education. The barriers faced in the development of blended learning environments are multifaceted and include technological support, selecting appropriate learning approaches, self-regulatory issues, and instructional design difficulties. These challenges underscore the necessity for enhanced instructional design, professional development programs, and a deeper understanding of cultural factors in developing online and blended learning environments.
