Abstract

Compassionate teaching is a pedagogical approach rooted in empathy, respect, and authenticity, aimed at nurturing students’ holistic development and well-being. This chapter explores the principles, characteristics, and practical strategies of compassionate teaching within the educational context. Drawing on the latest research and literature, it examines the significance of compassionate teaching in fostering positive relationships, promoting social-emotional learning, and empowering students to thrive academically and personally. The chapter also addresses the challenges and considerations associated with practicing compassionate teaching and concludes with a call to action for educators to embrace compassionate teaching as a transformative force in education.
