Abstract

Disability harassment is unwelcome conduct in terms of the actual or perceived disabilities of the students. Students with disabilities often receive discriminative behaviour from other students, institutional staff or others during their higher education. It is quite troublesome and challenging for students with disabilities to cope with such behaviour and feel free in colleges and universities while continuing their higher education. The entire paper has not only highlighted the reasons, challenges and types of discrimination against disabled students in higher education but also portrayed the necessity to make others aware of stopping such unethical behaviour towards them to generate a healthy learning environment. This awareness has been pointed to both the non-disabled students as well as the institutional staff from whom the disabled students require necessary support and cooperation without any discrimination. It can lead to their interest and willingness to continue their higher education without any hesitation or fear of being bullied and develop a progressed society across the world.
