Abstract

According to the National Education Policy 2020, the Indian knowledge system has gained further recognition. However, tribal knowledge systems are not recognized. Since ancient times; tribal people have been recognized for their distinct cultural identity, both in India and other parts of the world. They live close to the natural world and its natural objects, such as plants and trees, which are culturally and economically important to them. Throughout tribal India, there are numerous trees and plants that have both health and religious significance. The coexistence of tribals with nature and all its aspects has led to the development of vast knowledge and a culture of sustainability perspective, this article seeks to shed light on the significance of tribal knowledge systems, the difficulties that currently exist and possible ways to realize essence as a component of it. While writing this chapter various books, journals, articles and internet have been used.
