This paper tries to trace the foundational tenet of Indian political thought within the larger framework of the Indian Knowledge System. This work would explore and trace the theoretical richness of Indian Political Thought within the bedrock of the non-binary epistemology of the Indian Knowledge System which has been mistaken by many Indian scholars to be docile and partial. The undeviating objective would be to counter those strands of thought emanating from their various works noteworthy of that would be the arguments made by Sudipta Kaviraj when he encounters the Indian Political Thought to be wanting vis-à-vis its western counterpart. This is the problem that this work tries to grapple and understand in the context of the Indian Philosophical Thought which doesn’t believe in compartmentalization per se but rather a complex unity in which elementary partitioning for comprehension becomes a misnomer. This paper argues that such non-binary complex unity should not be misconstrued as a drawback but rather in the contemporary context as a manifestation of wisdom. The methodological tenet of this work relies on studying various primary and secondary literatures in this field and deriving a theoretical basis for the arguments.Metrics
