KNOWLEDGE SYSTEM IN THE LIGHT OF RABINDRANATH TAGORE

Abstract

Knowledge is an essential part of human life. The main goal of life of all the wise people of the world was to gain knowledge. However, not everyone has the same idea about knowledge. Rabindranath Tagore is one of these sages. Rabindranath Tagore possesses numerous talents and a wonderful personality. Along with being a poet of the world, his knowledge of various subjects of the world was extraordinary. To him, the theoretical and practical aspects of knowledge were equally significant and worthy of consideration. He founded the Visva-Bharati University at Santiniketan and through this institution he had the opportunity to roam freely in both directions of knowledge. All the theoretical and practical knowledge mentioned by Rabindranath Tagore has been tried to be presented in this chapter. Both primary and secondary sources have been used to collect the data needed to analyze the objectives of this chapter.
